Connect Appointments are recruiting a Service Engineer (Mobile Plant) to join our clients Musselburgh based facility.

- A full-time temporary ongoing opportunity
- Monday to Friday – working day shift hours
- Rates of pay from £15 per hour – paid weekly
- Overtime possible for weekdays and weekends
Working as a Service Engineer you will be undertaking the servicing and/or repairing (minor repairs) of the fleet of various mobile plants such as loading shovels, telescopic handlers, excavators. Other duties will include:
- General maintenance across the site, including regular servicing of on-site machinery
- Changing bearings, motors, and gearboxes on the plant;
- Carrying out repairs and other maintenance on vehicles, machines and affected components, including engines, brakes, steering
- Using a variety of specialist equipment and tools
- Liaising with site management with regard to required repairs and part ordering
- Liaising with suppliers, sourcing parts and comparing prices
To be successful in this role, you will have proven mechanical experience and relevant skills – e.g. NVQs. Including the ability to work as a part of a team; able to understand written and verbal instructions; and have great attention to detail.
Other key skills and traits include:
- Mobile Plant tickets are desirable (e.g. loading Shovel, FLT, MEWP, etc.)
- Keen to learn new skills and willing to attend training
- High awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental
